Batman '89

Description

Batman '89 is a direct return to Tim Burton's cinematic Gotham. The script is written by Sam Hamm, the screenwriter for the original films (Batman, Batman Returns), and illustrated by Joe Quinones.

The series continues the storylines that the director left unfinished. District Attorney Harvey Dent, trying to keep the city together, decides that the main problem tearing Gotham apart has a name – Batman.

This is not a retelling or a reboot, but a true sequel: the same gothic, theatrical Gotham from Burton's films, only now on the pages of a comic book and with a story that never made it to the screen.

Joe Quinones' art deliberately echoes the visual world of the films – from the city's architecture to the appearance of the characters, which every film viewer will recognize.

This volume collects Batman '89 #1–6.
